I have fears of chocking, passing out, him freezing my throat lol ect So I cancelled 2x's, but knew I have 2 broken old filling that wouldn't fix themselves. I spend the day in my brain so negative then I said to myself....this is it Your Stronger than you Know!! I went in the chair my chest was pounding like a full blown heartattack it was awful. He numbed my mouth and I though I'm not dying? I can breath? I stuck my ear bud in left ear, heard Match Box 20 and calmed down...Our minds are SO Powerful We can change our thoughts from panic to calm in seconds....We all need to Face our Fears with a vengence:)

Funny you should post this, because I have to get a tooth pulled tomorrow! Yikes!
Some information that may help you and others..... I ask for "novocaine with NO epinephrine" in it. The epinephrine that is normally in novocaine, contains adrenaline, that makes your heart beat fast and raises your blood pressure. The non-epinephrine one works just as well for numbing, with NO raise in your heart beating and no raising your blood pressure.
I found out about this years ago, because my Mom has super high blood pressure and can't handle regular novocaine, and I have been using the non epinephrine kind ever since... due to my general anxiety. Don't need any extra adrenaline injected in me when I am at the dentist's.
Just a little tip for anyone that doesn't like that rapid heart beat you get from the novocaine.
I had this dentist who sadly passed away but remember telling him how super anxious I was, and he said, oh yeah; I hate going to the dentist too for the same reason. Oddly hearing a dentist say he hates going to the dentist made me relax, like ahhh… validation at last, haha!
