I am SO ready to quit
Things have changed at Home Depot, they eliminated my greeting job and stuck me in the appliance dept. I've been in and out of there since I started working,(4 years ago) but have never been properly trained to work there, nor do I enjoy working in that dept at all. My schedule is all over the place. Right now they are cutting my hours, but first week in Aug I am working everyday. Yesterday I worked noon to 4pm. Tomorrow I'm working 12:45pm till 4:45pm. Then off Mon, Weds Thurs Fri and Sat. I think I'm working 8AM till 3 or 4pm. I hate the scheduling. When I was greeting it was 10-2 during the week and 9-5:30pm on Sun. It's overwhelming. I've asked to be put in the garden dept, but they refuse to do that. There was an HR person who was there when I started and she was willing to give me some hours in garden, not all the time but sometimes. Then I had greeting and appliance dept. But the current manager and HR person keep telling me no. Their computer system apparently couldn't just put me in appliance dept permanently without me reapplying as if I were a new worker. I was with the HR person earlier this week to do that in her office and I can't tell you how badly I wanted to tell her to just take me out of their system permanently. The working conditions in the store all together are horrible. Morale is low, my co workers and I complain about conditions. The managers don't really care. Some customers are really nasty. One of my co workers is going on leave for about a month, though I think he might not come back. His wife suffered a stroke several years ago and has never recovered. He is taking her home, which is Sierra Leone in Western Africa. He'll be gone for Aug. He needs to get the home they have there ready for her. building rams for a wheelchair, that kind of thing. The man is not young. I think he's in his 70s. He is leaving Aug 1st, that will leave the appliance dept short-handed Another worker has been complaining about back problems. He went to the doctor yesterday (left work early) he is looking into workers comp, but he puts the cart before the horse type person. I'll probably see him tomorrow and find out what the news is about his back. He might need surgery. Another person out. So more stress on my head. I've been putting applications. I wish I'd taken the job offer from Goodwill last year, I just saw many red flags with that company. HD is really pushing me towards quitting. It's starting to effect my mental and physical health. What would you guys do? How far do you get pushed before you quit? A few months ago I talked to the manager about my having transportation problems if I worked past a certain time and she was ready to fire me. flippantly said "Then I don't need you." I capitulated by saying I was available to work whenever on Sun. Thanks for listening.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
