Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Yesterday morning and this morning I am finding myself very nervous. I just took all my meds except my thyroid medicine. I have been watching videos and reading information about my underactive thyroid. My best friend told me that 2 of her friends take thyroid medicine and don't eat for an hour. I watched a video yesterday about reasons why thyroid medicine doesn't work. Suddenly I remembered that a male nurse told me how to take it but I didn't think I could do it and shrugged it off. I have almost every symptom even though I've been on medicine for about 40 years. So now I am taking it correctly. Let's see if I lose some weight and think better, etc. I don't think that is why I feel nervous though. I just had a panic attack too. I've only lost 7 pounds since January 1st and I changed my eating habits a lot. My goal is to lose 75 pounds.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I also take thyroid medicine. I wouldn't listen to how the other people you know take theirs, or watch videos that don't know your exact condition. I suggest you listen to your doctor about how to take it. Are you supposed to skip days of taking it? Take it how your doctor prescribed it to you.
My thyroid, and my thyroid medicine, has had zero effect on my weight. I am the same weight I was before I started on thyroid medicine decades ago. I don't think that is what is causing the weight issues for you. Again, check with your doctor before changing any of the doses of your thyroid medicine. If they say take it once a day, best to take it once a day. You don't want to develop worse problems with your thyroid function. That would cause you even more, big, problems.
Maybe add some exercise? Walking is low impact and great for stress reducing and losing some weight. Maybe taking a walk outside will help clear your head and calm your anxiety. Something about being in nature is calming most of the time.
Keep writing it out. Maybe there are other things going on in your life that are causing anxiety right now (you wrote about your Aunt yesterday?). Try doing some things that make you happy and that take your mind off the anxiety. Any small thing can help. Just take it moment by moment. Don't think about the future right now. I hope you feel better.
