Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I had to do this for shingles recovery while recovering from surgery.
First thing was waking up. I know, way basic, however, at the end of the day, when you look at what you have done to help your body recover from surgery, this one puts a smile on your face.
Whatever you are able to do, whether it is to walk to the bathroom, that's a positive.
A sip of liquid, a taste (a bite, lick, taste all count) of food, a walk through the hallway, putting on clothes, stepping outside in fresh air, every single thing you do counts.
Once you do this, you'll be "in the moment" which is one part of anxiety relief that provides the fastest relief for brain rest.
Best wishes. You are not alone in this.
Ann, have you tried Xanax? It sure works for me.
Please feel better.

I had surgery in March and I had a harder time with my anxiety for awhile. I think anything that has a major impact on your body is definitely going to affect you mentally as well. Also I noticed pain meds really affected my mood. So all the meds you had for anesthesia and then the pain meds for after, and just your body trying to find balance again and heal- it's going to affect your ability to cope with stress for sure. Remember it's temporary, be patient with yourself and loving with yourself. Surround yourself with things and people that are good for you and don't tax yourself too much with high expectations, I hope you get better soon.
