Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I'm 19 years old. I'm an artist, and I want to be a songwriter/vocalist. I'm sickly thin and barely eat. I'm unemployed. I'm sleep-deprived. Every day feels like groundhog day.
I am discontent with myself. I hate myself.
This prevents me from getting a job. Understand I've never been a social outcast or anything of the sort, in many regards I am very social. Being around friends and working with the public is very different.
I'm losing my hair. I have been for years. Shaving it is out of the question because of my odd-shaped head. It's already noticeable because of my hairline and it will only get worse. It's flat at the back and goes up at a 40 degree angle at the front, like a primate.
Nobody likes people who look like this. Everything is so reliant on physical appearance nowadays. People who look that way are viewed as creepy manchildren or pedophiles.
Who wants to be that guy who gets hair plugs or surgery, anyway? What the hell is even the point? I could buy a new car with the money I could spend on getting my hair back, and it's not even guaranteed to work. Nobody will respect my decision either way. "It's just hair", they'll probably say.
I've heard the same crap every single time, too. "There's only one you." "You are beautiful." "You are unique." "Physical appearance doesn't matter."
All of it's crap. Of course my friends mean what they say, but that doesn't change anything about how everyone else views me.
"That doesn't matter."
How does it not? Who wants to hang out or hook up with a teen who looks like he's pushing 38? Who wants to see a guy like that working the register? You'd be apt to turn the other way, if not run. Hell, who wants to hire a guy who looks like 10 miles of bad road in the first place? Nobody.
I can't do anything because I'm so unbelievably anxious. I feel like I'm rotting.

First, find the local vocation rehabilitation services to obtain all the services you need to find active employment.
Second, decide what you are willing to do to help yourself be the best you are, just the way you are. Look for what you love about yourself, and give your self the positive image talk you can do.
Third, take time to enjoy being your age, in this moment.
Best wishes.
Hey ...
I was just doing some research in this DS for a group I wanted to join but came across your post . I am very excited to hear this very first sentence you posted . You want to be a song writer / vocalist ..thats awesome .
There are No "Look requirements "to write and sing .... Go for it . Do it ---it soulnds like a passion for you . Go for the goal ...set a plan and go for it .....but look YOu must look after your health. To write songs your brain needs nourishment ...
I do not know you or your health circumstances , but I am concerned. Remember we can make choices , so if you not eating is a choice , it may be creating things like how you feel , your hair . But those are things on the outside right .....my concern is by not proper nutrition what may be happening on the inside .
I would like to suggest this. YOUR Goal is music ...you seem passionate and determined and confident when you wrote that ...so to get there we have to be proactive . So I think you can do two things. 1) go see your dr . Be 100 percent honest with them ..... get that help you need to get healthy so that you can go for your dreams . IT is NOT IMPOSSIBLE .
2) As that is being dealt with the good news is that you can also work on your music at the same time ......its a win win .
Jobs will come when you get healthier as well , right so just take little step ...one step .
Just look after making the appointment , getting to the dr for now, the music / singing writing will follow/ and relationships with others along the way will grow as well .
DR , writing
Once you feel better go check out music shops.to work at , it will give you experience and Fun but first You need to look after your health , and get some confidence back...so put the job hunting on the back burner. That will all fall into place in due time. The first thing is to take care of you ...sooooo
I hope you will make an appointment with the DR. and get a pen, and start writing songs of joy ..not darkness, but of joy . Journal your sadness , your painn and feelings but write songs that make you feel happy .Write songs of hope , of confidence of healing ....songs with direction , songs that teach and touch hearts to make others that may be hurting HAPPY :) ... ...I dunno ..... make them a hit .
Let your desire for music shine by getting healthy and going for the goal . >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Perhaps this is a medical condition ? Sorry I hope You didn't mind my decsion to add to this post as I said I was just looking around the DS site .
