Thanks Need Advice. I just started 37.5 six days ago. It makes me feel slightly nauseous throughout the day. I'm hoping that side effect ends soon.

I don't know much about Effexor, but here is some stuff (see below) that I found online about it. And that you have to be patient, as it can take 6-8 weeks to get the full benefits. Good luck! Was On it for a long time. No troublesome side effects. I now take the sister drug to Effexor, Pristiq. No troublesome side effects there either. If you take it at night it can perhaps help with the nausea. Most anti d’s are better taken at night because of side effects. I guess the theory is that you sleep through them. Side effects are more noticeable right after you take them so sleeping thru them makes sense.

If you are hydration sensitive (which is often the nausea feeling), then you need to find your hydration level comfort zone and stay consistently at that level.

Sleep rest medication does seem to reduce side effects for many individuals.

Trial and keep written track of what works for you.

How do you know what will work. My wife took this didn't seem to work but it was erratic. She's tried about 6 with a lack of success. Is there any rhyme or reason to what psychiatrists do or do they just know say 10 different medicines, spin a wheel recommend one at a low dose , if it works increase the dose and if not, spin the wheel and recommend another.

There seems to be a good group who believe these will work and they have a good amount of success and a separate group of skeptics and it doesn't work for many of them.

I have t been on Effexor but my sister in law has been for a long time and it has worked for her.
I am on a different anti d which definitely takes that edge off.
Still have my own issues to solve.
And Bobby, yes my husband must have tried 10 different anti depressants Even had that test done where they see which group is best for you. He had no luck.
