Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Anyone here hate crowds? I can't go to big churches or large events. Crowded places and especially crowded public bathrooms give me horrible anxiety.
Well, I found out that my favorite reggae band was coming to town and I just had to buy tickets to their concert (which was last week). I bought the tickets 2 weeks out and the closer it got to the day of the concert, the more nervous I felt. But you know what? I am one of those people who are big on personal growth. It is important to face your fears and learn and grow. So, I was determined to see my favorite band play even if it scared the crap out of me.
So concert day arrived.... and you know what? I ended up having a blast! The staff at the theater were really friendly and helpful. Our seats were up on the 3rd floor balcony and the building is so old. The only elevator they had was one of those old school ones where you had to manually slide the door open and close. It was tiny, maybe a dum waitor elevator. I have an old back injury from the Marines and the staff were kind of enough to take me up and down so I wasn't forced to use the stairs (which I tried). And they took me down stairs whenever I needed to use the bathroom.
When the concert ended, I was so bummed because I had such a great time and the fun was over. I realized I had all that anxiety for no reason, and I am so glad I went.

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

Here's congratulations on your success at the event and the help you got which made it even better!
With church, it takes time and visiting more than once to find what feels best for you. There are different styles, designs, and views from every location.
I found a great church with intellectual sermons. We were attending the evening service which is a much smaller crowd. But then they eliminated the evening service and keeping only the morning service which is a huge crowd and I can't handle it.
Serenity, thank you so much. I really try.
but even when i can't join the crowd, i feel better for challenging of the phobia.
I am so happy that you had a nice time at the concert.
