hello! i have booked my first cognitive behaviour therapy appointment for chronic fatigue and social anxiety. does anyone have success stories or experiences of how CBT went for them? i'm not really sure what to expect but i can't wait for this to be over really. i've been so ill and hardly seeing anyone, and coming back to school has made my social anxiety 50 times worse- everybody is asking me questions about why i've been off and what's wrong with me, and it's hard to explain that i'm just tired constantly. i hate being looked at and talked to. but around close friends or online i'm great fun and i can keep a conversation going for hours. any advice in general?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

issues including anxiety.
Anxiety itself can be exhausting. Its like your body never gets the rest
it needs because your mind cant rest.
If people ask where youve been just tell them that youre tired constantly [if you want to disclose this] and the docs are trying to find
out whats causing it. You dont have to discuss the anxiety or mental
aspects of your situation. A lot of adults who dont suffer from anxiety have a hard time relating to the problems it can cause . It would probably be even more difficult for friends your age to understand.
It's a lot of work, well worth the effort in the pay-off of leaving your anxiety level in the normal range and enjoying the experience without the dread.
Best wishes!
Here's what I said when I returned to school after a long break due to being fatigued. I said I'm ready to do this now. It's no one else's business, and if they care, they'll focus on helping you now. What is past belongs there. Be in the moment!
You got this!
I have social anxiety too and it made school very hard for me. I'm now out of grad school and try to only associate with close friends. I have been venturing out into the social whirl lately since my boyfriend and I broke up tho and it is triggering some social anxiety.
Therapy helps with anxiety, so CBT should help as well. I hope that it helps you. It's hard to be an introvert in heavy social situations like school.
