General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. I have been in a relationship for over a year and a half. We have ha dour ups and downs as I struggle with anxiety, ocd and depression. It has not made this relationship easy. He told me we would give this another shot and keep trying. He went away on a family trip and we had plans for dinner when he returned. An hour before we were supposed to get dinner he cancelled and sent me and email breaking up with me and told me not to contact him. He said he would reach out to me in a couple of weeks and we could sit down and talk. I can't deal with this!!!! He told me things were going better and we had been talking about a trip we would be taking. While he was gone he told me he would take me out on the trip next time. Why would someone be making promises if this was their intention????? I could never figure out how to make him happy. I am devastated. I have not eaten over the past few days. I am laying in bed crying.
I'm getting into my late 20s who will want me now???? I hate life.
my anxiety ruined this relationship. I have actively been trying to seek help and he told me last week he understood my mental illnesses and we could work through everything together and he would help me find the best doctors. I hate everything right now. I was constantly seeking reassurance and questioning everything in my head. This is not a good way to live.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Keep a journal, do things, and help your pattern of thought work for you.
Best wishes.
A lot of people dont get married until their 30's. My best friend just met the love of his life and he's 38, she's 35 , neither married before.
My step sister just had her 4th child at 44, and it was planned. Sounded
a little dangerous to me but she's a doctor.
You're not too old to find someone new. Not by a long shot. Spend some time on yourself and becoming who you want to be, and then get out there and knock 'em all dead. :)
My thoughts, don't overanalyze why he did what he did. It's almost impossible to understand some people's true motives, and quite honestly usually not worth even trying. Late 20's, you are not old. I married for the first time at 36. try to focus on 1 positive thing. I've had to do this in the past and grateful that I'm not blind, in a wheelchair, no missing limbs, etc. You certainly are trying to get the help you need. One step at a time.
My anxiety and depression is/was really hard on my relationship too. I wanted him to make things better for me and whenever I had anxiety problems or got really sad I was terrified that my behavior would drive him away. In fact, this worry often made things worse. But the truth was that pushing my feelings onto him and half-expecting him to fix me did hurt him and put a strain on our relationship. I saw that I was hurting him. And if you think of it from their point of view. They care about you, but it is hard for them to understand what you are going through and they feel helpless to make you better. And if you just keep expecting them too that is unrealistic. My anxiety wore my boyfriend down a lot.
My advice would be to focus on learning to trust yourself and focus on healing. And running after him will make things harder for both of you. Remember that you are strong and loveable. Spend some time forgiving yourself for what has happened and for all the pain you have gone through and forgive him too. Everybody has weaknesses and I don't think his actions and his promises were meant to hurt you. He was probably just trying to find a way to feel better and heal his own pain. So don't give up on yourself. You are worth it. You just need to forgive and love yourself.
I'm 39 and excited to be dating again. Believe me, in your late 20s you have plenty of pretty years left. You are quite young. I didn't get married for the first time until I was 34.
I have realized in my life that all relationships have a lifetime and the only person who will be in your life your whole life is yourself. Be kind to yourself. Take this period of singleness as an opportunity to enrich, enjoy and pamper yourself so that you can be ready when love next opens it's doors to you.
When you're next looking to meet someone, there is this self-help book called "Calling in the One" that my therapist recommended to me which is extremely effective in getting a boyfriend. It worked for me the last time.
It's helped me a lot as I too am going through a breakup. Added bonus, you can look at the divorce posts and think how glad you are you didn't marry him and have that additional extrication to get out of which would have been a lot more painful.
