Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Normally-for-me, I would begin one of my meditation shares by sharing how it applies to my daily inventory. This morning I am afraid to do that. One of my meaner psycho ticks from my early therapy years in the 70's has been reemerging during the covidic reliance on social media and my attempt to share about it yesterday got so ugly that I deleted the post. Further apology to all whom I offended.
Instead of risking further offense from sharing my strictly personal problems, I believe I will just jump in here and see where ^it^ goes without the strictly personal details.

Being a Burden
Knowing that one is the target of another's worries often lays a heavy burden on that targeted one. ~BETSY MARTIN
Why is it that when we try the hardest to be loving and caring, our behavior often seems to backfire?
We love our kids and our families and friends and we truly only want the best for them. We may slip into thinking that we know what the best for them is occasionally and we truly do care about them and want them to be healthy and happy. We are all clear about that. We may not, however, be clear about the best way to go about our caring.
We have been taught that worry is a form of loving and if we don't worry about those who are ear to us, we don't really care about them. Maybe we need to stop and take a long, hard look at what we have been taught.ork
When we look at some of the messages and teachings we have gleaned from dysfunctional families and a dysfunctional society, lo and behold, we may find that many of the teachings themselves are DYSFUNCTIONAL! Surprise! Surprise!
We don't want to be a burden to those we love, now. . . do we?

Again, I leave the mood icon on the rapid cycling median. I am not feeling too stable today. No generic advice, please. I'm confused enough already. Works in progress. . . I can do my own research, thank you kindly. It ain't my first roller coaster ride to Crazy Town.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.
Addendum
The quotation is today's read from, "Meditations for People Who Worry."
Methinks I'm holding steady through the fogs. Plural intended. It be as dark and drizzly a morn on the Southern Great Plains as in the damaged spaces between my ears.
Onward through the fog.
Thank you.
We all deal with life in our own way, and the world going "virtual" has certainly thrown a truckload of monkey wrenches into people's ways of dealing with it.
I offer what support I can as we move through both "irl" and the new meta reality.
Parts of the thread were quite helpful. I've worked networks since "internets" were plural but I sure do need help help with understanding all the fine points of the new social protocols. It is considerable easier for me to understand IRLs than the users operating the IRLs. I was disappointed that the thread skidded into a whatchamacallit before I got your take on ^it^. I am grateful to all who helped me find a few new words for ^it^.
Onward through the virtuals. . .
Arfie, you are doing a terrific job of sharing for those who are still taking their first tippy toe step into the waters of anxiety awareness.
My sharing here is for my strictly personal benefit. Surviving Child Sex Trafficking created breaks in both my body and mind which are unlikely to ever fully heal. I really do need the support and reality checks. Strictly personal. Accredited expert I ain't, nor do I want to be. Just making the best of a bad situation.
Healing hopes for all. No exceptions.
