Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Bad bad bad... I went out with two of my friends tonight for dinner at it was fine for a little while.. but than as we were talking, I could feel my anxiety kicking in and I couldn't talk anymore.. it was busy in there, and it was loud too.. all I could do was look around, and I couldnt focus.. my legs started shaking, and I wanted out.. I wanted to leave.. I than excused myself to the bathroom and just to breathe.. than I came out and started to eat again, while listening to my friends talk.. than my friend asked if I was okay and right than i was done and I said no and I had to leave.. i walked out of the restaurant and stood by a tree, and cried.. my whole body started to shake, one of my friends came out and she helped me put my jacket on cause I just walked out without it and my purse.. she walked me to her car and I sat in it and shaked.. my whole body just shook.. she drove me home, and walked me inside to make sure I was okay.. I've never had it this bad before, like this was a full blown attack.. I couldnt breathe, and felt like I was being closed in.. I'm still shaking, it usually only lasts a few minutes but not this time.. this has lasted alot longer.. I feel so bad for ending things so short, i mean they understand why and they are supportive. But ya it was not good at all.. came out of nowhere, and I felt like I was being consumed..

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

This has happened to me, usually with the added bonus of vertigo. I’m not sure what words of comfort I can give other than to hang tight. Deep breathe, try not to worry. I know it is a scary feeling. It will eventually pass. Janine
In a case this extreme, I often augment the breathing exercises with stretching exercise. I've been told my stretches look like Tai Chi, if you care to hunt down the guided exercises.
Continued support while you find what works for you.
For what it's worth
Of all the times I have been through that horror, there has only been one time there was an angel of mercy on the scene to help me through. I found powerful stabilizing medication in the act of creating a thank you gift for that angel of mercy. She is still in my life and still my angel of mercy. I remain grateful beyond words.
That is quite a friend you describe here. Worthy of praise and appreciation.
Breathing in (I am ok), and breathing out...let out all the tension you feel.
Whenever you are out in public and begin feeling the sensation of a panic attack...close your eyes (or not), and repeat the mantra, and same manner of releasing tension on out breathe.
The meditation practice, will help establish a tool you can use in order to stop it escalating.
This won't happen over night...and it will take some time to establish. Worth giving it a try. It has helped me.
Sending you light and love. It won't always be this way. I was also crippled with socializing with friends for fear of an anxiety attack happening. But I forced myself too...to confront it. Hiding just made me give into my anxiety.
Instead of such a crowded loud restaurant, try a smaller quiet one. Instead of 2 others, meet one on one.
Sending you light and love!
