Hello all,
I am a first time mom to a beautiful 9 week old baby boy. I have been off work on leave, and it is now time to return. I go back to work next week.
It was been a rough couple of weeks, I’ll be honest. I suffered from severe depression and anxiety, coupled with sleep deprivation and horrible infections. However, it all flew by fast.
I have just horrible guilt over returning to work. The anxiety is now worse than it ever has been. I walk around with this horrible knot in my stomach.
I woke up this morning sobbing. I am barely able to function today. The guilt, coupled with the anxiety, coupled with returning to my stressful job is just really getting to me
I could really use some kind words. Sobbing as I write this.
I have been on anti depressants. They are helping somewhat. Kind words. Please.

Does your beautiful baby boy need a big sister? You sound like the kind of mother I wish I had had and I promise I'll be a good role model for little brother if you will adopt me. I'm sure he won't mind if his big sister is older than his Mama.
Attempted humor aside. . .
Is it possible that your guilt feelings are *just* a sign that you are an intelligent woman who is paying attention to the challenges of parenthood? Going back to work is a pretty big deal, but staying home isn't challenge-free, either.
You can do this, Jammer. Lean freely here when you need to. You are not alone.
Gentle support while you brave your new frontier. Welcome aboard.
