Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I sweat from my scalp. Try hiding that one. . . The salt from sweat in my eyes makes me look like a substance abuser.
I use the early warning signs of anxiety to help me cope. Recognizing my anxiety before I start sweating buckets in the hot seat allows me to ply psychotherapy tools before the stress event puts me in the reactive mode of fight or flight. It took me allot of years to collect and master those tools, and they are still easier said than done. It is not an easy skill set to learn, much less master.
To make the task even more challenging, every case of anxiety is unique. What works for one case might not work for the next. Sigh. . . Why can't life be simple?
Having a safe place to sort through the confusions of ^it^ all helps me tremendously. I get by with a little help from my friends. Hope you feel safe to sort through your own unique case here. Welcome aboard.
It's a tough situation- I know I'm "safe" , there are no threats but my body reacts, perfectly put arfie, "fight or flight".
Hypergal- you are not alone! My face gets so red and people always comment so it makes it so much worse!
So frustrating.
I can relate i too sweat, that is a sure indicator that I am in or about to be in the throws anxiety. my are made worse when i speak in public or on broadcast. I on occasion am involved with local broadcast media. its tough i can feel the stares at my sweat.
It took me a long time to find what started mine, and it was due to writing out in a journal that I was able to find a method that works for me.
The even breathing in through nose, out through mouth, in through nose, and out through nose works to bring the active sweating down fast for me. I know someone else who had to use the pressure massage on their face (starting round the eyes and nose) to get their urge to sweat down.
Best wishes.
And those night sweats. Ugh!!!!!
