Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
IT WILL PASS! You are tired. I would rest. Look for things that are your safe and comfortable things. Be with them. Watch a funny movie or find something distracting. Your body can only stay in an anxious state so long because it can’t constantly produce cortisol and adrenaline. But you will likely be tired. One thing I know for sure is that it will pass. It will not kill you and it is the ultimate unwanted uncomfortable feeling but it will be ok, Being patient and truly believing is one of the hardest things to do in an anxious state. I am always available for support. Feel free to ask me anything. You are not alone and I promise you will be ok!
Hope you find a doctor who is compassionate and understanding. If the first one isn't, go to another one until you find one who is. You deserve all the help that is out there. And remember, you are the one who is in charge...you don't have to do or take anything you don't want to but please be kind to yourself.
Peace
I admit that I took meds for years, but wanted the cure instead of a "quick fix" to treat symptoms.......so I took the cure.
It will take some work and patience on your part if you want to do it without meds. You need to be consistent and aware of your surroundings.
It is all about your self talk.....the negative messages you are telling yourself consciously and unconsciously.
EVERY time you are starting to have a panic attack......do not try to stop it.....let it come. However, become aware of your surroundings. Are you in any REAL danger? (assess your situation).
Once you establish your safety.......if you are able, distract yourself with something neutral such as noticing ppl or.....anything within your sight (hint....make it something pleasant). Once you are distracted......take a deep breath in through your nose. Hold it for 6 seconds. Release your breath slowly through your pursed lips (about another 6 seconds).
You may feel a bit light headed.....nothing to worry about. You are getting oxygen to your brain and slowing your heart rate. This is absolutely 100% safe.
Do this breath work several times until you calm down. Keep inventory of your surroundings. Are you still safe? I bet you are ;)
Start talking to yourself either in your head or out loud. Tell yourself you are ok. Tell yourself you are a loving and beautiful being (true story).
Interrupt any and ALL negative messages/self talk (become aware.....it's sneaky and you will always tell yourself that you are not doing it or that you deserve to talk to yourself that way.......would you talk to a friend that way? I'm guessing not).
If you have access to youtube, I suggest you find some guided meditation to relaxing music. It's free and very relaxing. There are tons of videos on youtube about freeing yourself from anxiety and panic attacks.
If I may, I suggest listening to anything put out by Louise Hays on self love and self talk. You can find tons of her stuff on youtube and it is perfect for learning to free yourself from negative self talk.
Treat yourself kind and with respect. Forgive yourself and walk away from negative ppl and situations.
A quick note......if your mind created it.......your mind can get rid of it too :)
The brain is THAT powerful!!!!! It can mimic any kind of illness out there.
It can create panic........and it can create peace and well being. You get to choose!
I took the cure about 3 or 4 years ago and I feel terrific!!!! and you can too :)
The tools I gave you will only work if you are willing and put the time in to retraining your brain (look up neuro plasticity).
Turn off the news. Stop looking up symptoms on computer or on any other social media places. Stop negative behavior as well as the negative self talk.
Work on eating better foods and drink plenty of water.........and meditate....sing and dance.......watch funny shows/movies.........walk in nature.........paint......draw.......or anything fun.
Always, always, always remember to breath deep often. Your body NEEDS the oxygen......and good vibes.
I send good vibes and well wishes for a better life without meds.......and anxiety/panic attack freedom :)
Anxiety is natural, and movement will help disperse the sensations quickly naturally.
Stay hydrated.
Practice observation of symptoms, sensations, and what works. This will help distract you from usual thought patterns.
Best wishes!
This is gonna take practice and time. This is the key to making permanent change. It must be done each and every time until it becomes a habit....about 3 months all day long.....every day!!!!
yes panic attacks are very debilitating and leaves you weak and whipped out as i get them and anxiety too often then i care for and i know how they leave me.
My tip or advise is try bio feedback which is try and think of something pleasant and that gives you pleasure besides concentrating on yourself. Do things when you can that you enjoy and takes your mind off your problem.. If you have someone or people to talk too that helps as well. Many times it's mind over mater as i am a great example of that. I think something is wrong when it's not and then things spiral out of control.
Hope this helps you out.
If you care to reach back out feel free.

1) I stop using any alcohol for now, never done any drugs other than what the doctor gave me. ( but if you use drugs, 420 or anything else stop). Drugs effect your mood and more importantly your chemical balance making you weaker to anxiety. If its doctor prescribed work with them on it, not telling you to go off them.
2) you must use logic over emotion when anxiety hits, its simply you acknowledging what is happening and you are going to be just fine. Mind over matter and you will need to train your self on this. It works over time, when you feel a head ache starting you don't lose it you know how to deal with it.
3) acknowledge you will most likely have to deal with this for the rest of your life. This is OK and not a bad thing, just accept it as apart of you and it gets better.
4) Make your self physically stronger to withstand the effects of anxiety, for me it was a hard cardio work out with strength training added later. The main reason for this is by making your self physically stronger, more importantly building up your physical endurance so when anxiety hits you can withstand the effects and continue to function in life.
5) Last own it and make it work for you! As I stated when anxiety would happen and I would get that burst of adrenaline I would do my cardio work out, or go for a fast walk anything really that can leave you sweating when done. I found I could double my cardio work out when anxiety hit and I thought this was really cool. When I started to build up my endurance I was able to withstand the after effects of anxiety.
I loved how I could double my time with cardio and then strength training when I added that to the mix. I love the effect the work outs had on me physically and mentally. The endorphins released from working out has so many physical and mental benefits I don't even know where to start on that. I actually looked forward to my anxiety and stopped all medication from my doctor. He congratulated me and said if only all his other patents would do the same so many could be medication free and reclaim their life. I did all this in 3 months and as I said I sort of miss my anxiety.. it was almost like a super power to me that made me stronger.
I'm not the best with words or grammar but I hope this helps, it really just boils down to you taking control of your life.
