Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Good morning. I am very anxious this morning. It was my Aunt's birthday yesterday. Today, I am bringing lunch. She is very excited. I am not. I don't want to go. Therefore, I am having a panic attack. I'd love to stay home with my kitten today. My Aunt put me on the spot the other day and said that my attitude towards her has changed. I've been dealing with this annoying, depressing, paranoid person since 1995. I have had to exercise a lot of patience. A few months ago, I bottomed out. Almost, or maybe did, have a nervous breakdown. There were two other things bothering me greatly too. And I was lonely. Now I have panic attacks when I have to do anything for her. I am trying to calm down. Maybe a shower will help. When I get anxious, I curse terribly, and punch things like my couch or car door when it closes on me. My kitten is so beautiful. He has doubled in size but is still really little. I am blessed to have him. He makes me laugh. Thanks! I'm just venting.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I can totally empathize with anxiety triggering anger. That would be the bane of my existence and utterly to critical to control around that same 2 year old. That anger reflex plays Hell on all the other pieces of my life, as well.
Anger channeling exercises help me tremendously. I look for non-destructive ways to vent my anger. Beating up on the couch has qualified as an anger channel for me. I did damage I later regretted to my vehicles when I have random targeted my vehicles, so I throw a rock or two on my way to the car, instead. If I don't throw a cuss word or 50 during my anger channeling, they are guaranteed to come out at the worst possible moment. "Happy Fucking Birthday, stupid bitch" goes better in the shower than at the family gathering.
affirmed by only the fact that you did a good thing and good work is its own reward.. for example, I had troubles
recently - but I dealt with it the way I knew was the responsible way of dealing with it - the outcome wasn't great
but I knew I did what I was supposed and that's a comforting thought.
