Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
This coming Monday I'm having an MRI to possibly diagnose the pain in my left knee. After that my family dr is referring me to a pain management center. Yesterday I talked with my psych CRNP and got Rxs for Ativan the day of the MRI. But I forgot to ask her for anything to help me get through the days from now til then. I tried emailing the office manager to get me in one day this week but she replied they had given me enough meds. I've had anxiety for 50 years, was on Valium for most of it, then they switched me to Klonopin which doesn't help as much. My worst anxiety is in advance of medical procedures, often days in advance, not just the day of the procedure. I'm not sure exactly what I'm scared of. I'm just scared.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

Distract yourself with that you got it taken care of for the day of mri, and you have an appointment for pain management.
That's all you need for now.
Relax, rest, and keep up with other activities!
Try to think about the positive sides of getting the MRI. How your knee is going to get better soon, how now you will start treatment, how good it will be when your knee is better... etc. Think of some things you're looking forward to doing with your knee feeling better. Try to focus on all the good parts about getting the MRI.
It will be done and over with before you know it. Best wishes.
