This may sound weird, but when my body tells me that my anxiety is fighting for me. It tenses up and I am unable to use the bathroom. It's resulted in bedwetting accidents and daytime incidents. I'm up at 1:40. I've been going to the bathroom every hour, but it leaks or nothing comes out. I've battled this before and it's hard. I'm 20 and today I had to go pick out Poise pads and diapers for public. I'm embarrassed, frustrated and discouraged. Also, in a lot of pain. I've tried all the tricks like the meditations and I have a bedside pan, but when I'm so tense I cannot go. I feel like I've lost control of my body. if anyone could help, and give advice I'd appreciate it.

The only reason it sounds weird is that so few people are willing to talk about ^it^. The wide variety of products available to deal with this social faux pas offers some clues to just how common ^it^ is.
For the incontinence, I monitor my liquids, avoiding diuretics such as sodas, coffee, cottage cheese, etc. I also take extra care to wear clothing which doesn't show the wet spots.
For the retention, I turn on the water faucet next to the toilet. The sound of running water often carries a power of suggestion that helps me let go. Breathing exercises and gentle stretches while I am on the commode also help me relax my muscles enough to let go.
Gentle support while you find what works for you. Welcome aboard.
Yes, this happens to a lot of people.
What I do is I sit in the bathroom, and do the even breathing while my body finds the relaxing moment and motion begins naturally.
Best wishes as you find what works to give you better balance.
I hope you get it sorted out soon
