Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
When you are treating symptoms of anxiety, one method that may work, may put the OCD in a different mode, and has to be included in the outcome/choice of method. You can heal, you can manage, and you will get better, best wishes!
a drug that works on O CD. And I said I don't know if my worried thoughts
that keep popping up is from my Generalized Anxiety Disorder or my O CD.
She said it's hard to tell. That my anxiety and O CD seem to be intertwined.
I have been on Prozac for a long time and it took away a lot of O CD symptoms.
But not excessive worrying mainly to do with husband. Over and over.
turns out the Luvox is used for OCD. But like anxiety OCD is a natural process of the human mind. to get something really really right you have to be compulsive and obsessive about it. I might be oversimplifying but how many movies have we seen that the solution to a problems demands that the hero ups his/her persistence a notch to the level of obsessive compulsive. when I go at a computer I get obsessive compulsive which you have to because sometimes it looks as if nothing is going to work. But I refuse to believe that. Most of the time I will crack it up. Sometimes I just give up, but it is a machine.
what happens, however, when we get obsessive compulsive about something for which we are convinced there is no solution? or if we are convinced there is a solution only if another person willingly and freely takes a certain course of action? In these cases I believe we will always need a buddy to provide some perspective for us? Is that person going to leave school, end up in the streets using drugs, live an unhappy live for refusing treatment? because one of the dangers of being convinced there is no solution is to get in the time loop of reliving (obsessively and compulsively) the inevitable catastrophe over and over and over and over again. and what will that do for our anxiety?
but just the action of thinking, of being convinced, no matter how hard and unlikely, that there is something we can do, might be able to break the cycle. It is like in the movie The Matrix when Neo faces the enforcers or whatever, and Morpheus says, he is starting to believe. Anybody can think what they want but it is a movement not only of the Will, it is a movement of the Spirit...
now the problem is not how will I handle emotionally this catastrophic outcome but being convinced that this catastrophic outcome is not inevitable, what can I do to make tomorrow a better day.
must go. everyone's strategy must be suited for him/herself.
