Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Hi everyone. This is my first time on DS. My anxiety has been really flaring up lately and manifesting in new ways in addition to the usual symptoms (panic attacks, shaking, dizziness, sweating, heart palpitations, etc.). I've been really nauseous lately and sometimes I'll go weeks without being able to comfortably eat more than a few bites a day. Smoothies have been helpful for getting nutrients but now I've started dry heaving along with the nausea and during those episodes I can't eat or drink anything pretty much all day. It's really interfering with my daily life and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to combat nausea, stop a gag reflex, and cope with anxiety.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Write it out in a private journal. The more you write, the easier it will be to see what's bothering you inside your head.
Anxiety is natural. It is a part of us.
When your reflexes are in overdrive, it becomes necessary to write out what's happening when, where, how, who, and once you notice the pattern of thought, then you have a clue to help you bring your reflexes back into normal range for anxiety.
Your feelings affect your health. Your health affects your feelings.
Best wishes as you make your way to a better balance.

I get this symptom, big time, alongside its buddy, involuntary weight loss. As tough as it can be to eat under the influence of anxiety, keeping a balanced diet is all the more important because of the condition. I eat baby food when I am at my worst. It is balanced nutrition in an easy to use and digest format.
Simultaneously, I work on alleviating whatever it is that has me so anxious. My therapy journal and peer support network are among the tools I use for that. This very forum is part of my support network.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
