Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Does anyone else have anxiety that manifests in unusual ways? Most of the time I feel like my anxiet is less panic attacks and more "I'm not enough" "did I do that wrong" "should I have done better" "Its all my fault". It's so hard to deal with because I am constantly questioning if I did something wrong or hurt someones feelings or if someone is mad at me for something I don't understand. Sometimes I have to try to decifer what feels like it's real and what I know is logically not likely. All these thoughts constantly racing through my head give way to some really bad depression. Then the depression fuels the anxiety... it's a viscious cycle. I never want to talk to anyone in my life about it because I feel like they either don't understand because they don't outwardly see it, or they feel like they need to do something which makes me feel like a burden. (side note: I was recently diagnosed with Bipolar 2 and am working with a psychiatrist to find the right combination of medications)

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Start by journaling. Writing down what happens and how you feel. Let that journal show you how you are thinking. Review the entries to discover where you are being critical of yourself.
Talk with your doctor about everything you are feeling and how you are thinking. Realize it will take time to get the medication mix right. Keep a log of side effects.
I hope you feel better. I have used everything in this post myself. I have been in your shoes and I know how it feels.
You are doing the best you can, which is all any of us can do. Be honest with your psychiatrist (they have heard it all before and they have heard way worse than anything you could say) and they will be able to give you the best line of treatment.
Best wishes to you and I hope you feel better soon!
I've struggled with anxiety for my entire silver-streaked life. It has been long enough since I thought those symptoms made me a freakazoid that your question caught me off guard. I can no longer think of those symptoms as unusual, not even for the masked social distancers who pretend they are perfect. Now that you have reminded me my early years of therapy when I still believed the mixed messages of the social phenom, I find I can't remember if I was more frightened or relieved to discover just how common those symptoms are. On the good days, it felt good to believe I was unique. Then we get to the bad days. . . Are you sure I have to take the bad with the good? Who wrote these rules, anyway?
You are not alone, Mandy Grace. Welcome to the place where you can unburden and share the load. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
Keep a private daily journal.
Stay hydrated.
Practice even breathing through your nose, in nose, and out nose. Do in the nose and out the mouth. This can help calm naturally.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
I feel the same and it’s really hard.
Just keep posting here and trying your best. You will get through this difficult patch.
