Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hey all. Haven't been around for a while because, honestly, I've been feeling really good. Then yesterday afternoon/evening I started feeling not so good... upset stomach, tired, achy. I think that triggered some anxiety. I tried to rest for a while and then get up and do some physical activity and set the anxiousness aside. That worked for a while, but then I started feeling crappy again and more anxious. But I took a hydroxyizine to keep the anxiety from getting too bad and I layed down in bed and more or less slept for like 12 hours. I'm feeling better this morning, but still not great. And, unfortunately, the symptoms of a minor bug and the physical effects of anxiety for me are a lot a like. So, my mind confuses the sensations and misinterprets and I'm not sure what's going on. I guess, either way, I need to just be gentle with myself today.

I think the way to tell if it's a bug or anxiety is that a bug (physical sickness) is there the whole time, whereas anxiety will come and go throughout a day.
Hope you feel better! Keep writing it out.
One of the biggest differences for me is that in writing it out, I realized that the stress I effectively masked in the situation and remaining calm visibly with the people involved was revealed after I was able to find the peace in mind. I have peace and balance again.
The soreness in my stomach is still there, and is easing off the more I do the calming breathing and rest the muscles.
Hope you feel better and in balance fast!
Do continue to write your feelings out and we're all here on the DS to listen and help anyway we can. You sound like you have a lovely Sunday day planned. Sounds like a relaxing soothing day. You deserve it!! Enjoy!!!
I love the folk adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but when it comes to my own brand of anxiety, I believe that an ounce of prevention is worth far, far more than a pound of cure. When I can catch my anxiety at the stressor stage, I can oftentimes head off a system wide attack on my entire nervous system.
Do, do, do be gentle with yourself and never forget that rest is a productive activity.
