Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

My mother's attitude towards myself and the rest of my family tends to read that she's fed up and done with us. When I was little she used to threaten to just up and leave all the time. One of my clearest, earliest memories isbeing in bed and hearing her shouting about something from the living room, just yelling about how done she was with all of "this shit!", and then just shouting about how she was done, how she was going to take her things and leave. I remember crying myself to sleep that night. I was barely in kindergarten.
This settled down for a few years, but recently she's started up this habit of just throwing whatever she's doing down (when my younger siblings get in a fight,) and taking her keys and going to sit in her car. Every time she does this I have a panic attack and this deep fear that it's finally happening. That I've finally done it and that she's really going to leave this to e and never come back, and it'll have been all my fault.
I have no idea how to cope with this and I wish there was something I could do...

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Reality check: The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior...your mother hadn't left yet...and she's most likely been tried over and over again...I sincerely doubt that she's going to leave now.
Maybe take a page from your mother's book and when it all gets too much for you...that you take a break too? Can you go out for a walk? Go to the library? Clean the bathrooms?
My 16 year old daughter has actually learned that 5 minutes of cleaning the bathrooms works wonders on calming me down. I'm not kidding. Yes, I'm lucky, but I have yelled more than once or twice myself. Used the hate word towards my kids...blah, blah, blah.
I'm human. So are they. As you grow up, learning how to deal with stress and frustrations are one of the KEY skills you will need to learn. It's not easy. One day at a time....for both you and your mother.
Listening. . . Prayerfully hoping that between us we can find a way to heal both sides of the abandonment issue coin. Just hoping. . . Whether that gently held hope fullfills, or knot. . .
Continued support while you sort your own.
You are responsible for what you say, do, and how you react. So, put your well-being first, and be positive in your response. Sometimes, stepping away and doing some simple physical task does the distraction, calming, and brings the ability to see clearly in the moment fast naturally. That helps so much to break the usual thought pattern that brings the usual feelings that do not work for anyone.
To break the cycle of usual response takes many directions, not always for the better, how ever it does change the usual response as it no longer fits.
The one major thing about leaving the conversation and stepping away is that it offers a change, providing time to breathe, to relax, to be calm.
Best wishes.
