General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hi just joined the group today and have been reading and replying to many posts. I hope this group can give me hope that I can manage my anxiety better. I not been formally diagnosed with generalized anxiety ever but have been on various meds for bipolar. I just thought they wers suppose to be helping my anxiety but I was soo wrong. I was never comfortable talking with my dr about my anxiety. But I have been very
stressed out about my health issues for almost a year. I had a serious anxiety/panic attack in sept and ended up going to the er. They persribed an anti anxiety med sorry dont remember which. I had to stop taking it after about a week. I was interacting with my other meds. I do take Busperone. but doens;t seem to help at all. I have been taking Serequal for many years and would like to get off that.. Of course my dr keeps wanting me to take other meds too. I will not because of all the side effects. So that is where i am at. I am trying to learn to do stuff like exercise and mindfullness meditation but am having a hard time of it. I also have social anxiety so that doesn't help matters any. Thanks for listening!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

like Klonopin, Xanax , and Ativan. Klonopin is usually prescribed for
people who need to be on them daily as opposed to as needed. It lasts
about 12 hours , so 2 doses a day is normal.
Some of the SSRIs like Lexapro are used for generalized anxiety.
I would talk to your doc to see what they think is best.
The benzos have less side effects but are harder to wean off if
you decide to stop .
Also an increase in the Busparinne may help. My doc says most people dont get much relief until their dose is at least 30 mg per day [split
into 2 or 3 doses] and you can take as much as 60 mg per day.
It had less side effects than the Benzos or antidepressants.
I'm on zoloft for the chronic mild depression, and this reduces my anxiety level to where I can do normal activities ...
As bon temps writes, the dosage can be tweaked to help you with the medicines you're currently on.
One factor for me is that when I hear "not working now", the first thing I ask myself is what sensations changed and are those sensations being gone enough to work on the next part. Just a thought.
You are not alone in this. Welcome!
