i remember asking mine, so why will CBT help me if you teach it? after all, i have read about it books, and it just ain't working. and he said: b/c books don't talk back. and that's pretty true. i went, expecting a magic cure, and there isn't any, but this is pretty good. also, you have to WANT to be cured, and feel better, more than you want the pain, and bad habits of feeling bad. it won't happen overnight, but it will happen - kinda like losing weight. i try to be completely honest, and not hide my fears/worries. that way, i can examine and deal w/ them.
my poor hubby says: how many times do i have to tell you, you are ok? he's not trained to fix this kind of thing. i know he would, if he could.
so, hopefully, i have tossed another batch of irrational fears out the door, and now it's back to business as usual...
