It will soon be 5 months since my bka and i am having a very hard time finding shoes that don't look really awful and are comfortable. I cannot wear any type heel at all. They must be flat, flat,flat otherwise I feel as tho I am pitching forward. Does anyone understand what I mean? Do you have suggestions? Also, is it possible for you gals to wear boots? or am I still in the denial mode about all this fashion? And speaking of fashion neither can I wear my jeans or very few slacks due to the bulk of socks,gel liner,socket, etc.!! What's a girl to do? Bad enough we have to deal with just 1 leg let alone wardrobe non function lol. Any advice will be greatly welcome. If I could just dress close to what I use to I think I would feel better about the whole deal. I am still having a hard time with the acceptance of this new way of life.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? As for your shoes, flats are not in style right now except in a few exceptions, but again, talk to your prothetist about a adjustable heel foot. You have these wedges to adjust the foot to accomadate different heel hights. Hope you have decent insurance or medicare. You may have to fight, even find a prothitist that will battle for you. I think you will be happy with the new socket and adjustable heel. Love to you, Torry
And dont put up with wearing more than 10 mil of socks, thats just lazy bullcrap, and dangerious because you can develop wounds and rashes from the constant rubbing from the ill-fitting prothesis. You will be able to fit boots better when you get your permanant leg. But there should be no problem, if that is what you want by then. Love to you.
