Oh Rollie, couldn't it at least have been the dirty laundry?? Funny how things that are really a crisis when they happen to us can sometime down the road make us laugh or at least smile. I can recall a few instances when something Tom did made me scream and/or cry but looking back on them I know my response was a little over the top.

I do think the whole toileting issue is the one I have the least tolerance with...no answer. ....and why are there not more "Family Bathrooms on the road and in restaurants? " This is a disability issue we all (or most) deal with yet it is ignored.

Another stinky topic! Mine peed on the bathroom scale which was in his bedroom.

This is an easy fix Deborah.Just stuff some laundry items in the toilet bowl.

When Jim was mobile, I had to do what I called "Pee Patrol" every morning. He peed everywhere -- in the heat vents (his favorite place), behind the china cabinet, all over a brand new night stand (I mean, top, drawer, bottom and underneath), even opened a bottom cabinet drawer and peed in it, on the sunporch, on the back deck, anywhere he could; only played in poop once. We had to remove all the carpet and put down flooring in every room, install a new heating system, everything.

But that is all over now because he is on a catherer and wears diapers and is in a hospital bed and has to be turned because he can't do anything for himself. And to tell you the truth, I think this is much worse than cleaning up pee and poop.

Ron went thru a stage where he peed in the kitchen sink. It lasted a few months.. then stopped as fast as it started.

Well this answers another mystery. My mom mentioned a few months back that she was afraid that dad was going to pee in their bedroom. At the time I thought she meant that he wouldn't make it to the bathroom in time since his walking was very unsteady.

Now I'm thinking that he has been going in other places. She has made comments about having to clean up after him but I didn't quite put it together.

She has also made some comments about him having explosive bowel movements. Has anyone found that early on? I thought it might be the medications.

I cut off soft drinks, carbonated drinks for my husband because of the explosive bowels. he loves his Pepsi but that was too much work for me.
