I get the winter blues every year. I am very much a 90-100 degree weather type of person with plenty of sunshine, can't stand the cold, have to wear pants and shoes and socks - yuk!

Can't use the weather as an excuse anymore.If I am o.k. spiritually and choose to see the beauty of the season instead of focusing on what I don't like about it,it could be a blizzard outside with 25 inches of snow on the ground,and I am o.k. The anticipation of the upcoming season and warmer temperatures is exciting,plus I know that it will not last,as everything has a time and season.I say-bring it on,old man winter!

Living in Northern Minnesota and having -55 windchills most days recently, I have to say is getting a bit old.. HOWEVER, I am just giddy thinking that Feb is around the corner and this too shall pass!!!!

Shakysara, I understand that tanning booths can be bad for you. I have to be checked for melanoma regularly due to my transplant. I also know that sometimes with health issues you must accept the leeser f two evils. Right now for instance I have to take drugs that are causing my kidneys to malfunction my alternatie is to reject the new liver I received. When my liver disease was at its worst point I itched so bad I could scrath till I bled and it was impossible to sleep. I was advised by a dermatologist to tan for short periods every other day and sure enough it helped tremendously.
Notice I said for only 6-8 minutes only 2 to 3 times a weeek. Moderation is the key as it is in all things.

Yes I now live on the east side of the state, but I lived in Longview on the Columbia river 50 miles from the coast for 23 years.

I am so dependent on sunlight. They were going to put me into a new classroom last year without any windows. I for once stood up, dug in my heels and pulled senority on them. Got my new classroom, but it is one with a huge window. We have not had much of a winter this year and I am thankful. I am looking forward to the 90+ degree days again. That is cool that 2 Feb is the mid point of winter. I suppose that is why ground hog day is celebrated then.

reed - I agree on the tanning bed theory... it's just a theory BUT I like it. I remember a few years ago how much better the bright lights (and tan) made me feel during the winter when I would go tan...
I was thinking of tanning my head so I don't have to wear a scarf all the time.....man, my head is white..LOL BALD IS BEAUTIFUL BABY !
