Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

My eyes will barely stay open this morning because they are so puffy from crying. I had decided I wasn't going to tell my family but because of my addiction I am not able to cover rent and bills and need to ask my parents to lend me some money. My husband and I make good money. With our wages we should be able to comfortably support and family of 4, yet we are just 2 people and live paycheck to paycheck paying bills late and getting cash advances. Hubby smokes up to 3 packs a day, spends on average $300 a week on cigarettes. And he would drink, but he barely drinks anymore, I've taken over that role. We are in a jam this time and I have to be honest with my parents why we need money because they know how much money we make.
Last night I decided to tell my sister because I figured she would hear it from my mom anyway. She's not a fan because her husband is a recovering alcoholic and she's been hurt so many times. Plus she used to listen to me in tears when my husband was at his worst.
She doesn't understand and I told her she doesn't have to, I just want her support and to love me. She was crying, I was crying, and I feel like I let her down. She doesn't understand I have a disease and it's taken away the sister she loves. I used to be happy, now I'm fat and depressed. I was depressed before I started drinking though but it's just gotten worse.
I hate that I've become this person, telling my parents is going to be so hard

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

In telling your sister you are an alcoholic are you looking for her to be your saver??
I had to tell myself my troubles are of my own making and hence my own to resolve, yes with help but I had to do the 'hard' work'.
Wishing you well. G8
It was like magic. I began getting the things I needed, when I needed them! I opened the door just a crack, and God opened it up the rest of the way for me! I no longer had to worry!
A little bit of faith goes a long way!
God Bless!
Yes, I heave actually looked in the mirror at myself and said those exact words "I'm an alcoholic". I admitted it to myself before anyone else. Not looking to be saved, I'm owning up to my own mess, though I am trying to avoid possible eviction and whatever else by asking my parents for money.
I'm on day 3, heading to bed and will wake up on day 4 and I'm excited, feeling good.
Told my mom today, dad wasn't home. She cried and cried and then I cried too. She's not mad, doesn't hate me, but I broke her heart and that stinks. By recovering and getting well in every way, I will make her most proud and myself. I hope this will let me sleep tonight
Hugs all!!
I hope today is a good one for you. And if for some reason it isn't, I know you will face whatever comes your way today sober.
