Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

People without a problem can have a hard time understanding what it is like to have a drink and not be able to stop.
Last year I had an interesting time at a party. It was in a big loft and every single beverage they had was alcoholic. There was not even a kitchen faucet to get water from! Shows you the mind set of some people -- it did not even occur to the people who threw the party that anyone would want something other than beer or wine. I finally found a vending machine -- I was thirsty and I don't like being around alcohol when I am thirsty. Since then I always consider whether I want to bring a nonalcoholic drink so I have something I like. Might work for you to bring your own drink sometimes too.
I'm hopeful you are working on getting your meds right. If I've learned anything from the others, taking Lithium at the right level really helps people get to a level playing field. Also, not adding alcohol or other drugs, eating well and sleeping are also key.
Including my friends.
