Just stopping by to see how everyone is holding up.
So far I'm working on my 3rd year of no alcohol. I do have a quick question though: I noticed when I was drinking, my sleeping habits became whacked. Since I quit drinking, my ability to sleep hasn't been the same, anyone else have this problem?

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Things to be mindful. That racing feeling of doom remorse or whatever. Sometimes dreams process things that happened the prior day.
The coffe at night ... part is the part I had to watch out for. I used to could have coffee any time and no problems sleeping. But now I have tea after 5pm And remember alcohol WAS all sugar. The body is racing and wants the Depressant alcohol to be poured on ...
It took my body awhile to reset but man this is better than the crap I used to have to do, sleep on the couch so my snoring wouldn’t bother the Mrs. Then wake up feeling shitty ...
Today it’s betterr

1is2many: ah man, I drank myself to sleep. I remember I had a hard schedule plus high stress job when I used to work in the food industry. 16 hour days and a demanding work load plus getting food out their incredibly fast will take a toll on ya. So I used alcohol to fall asleep.
It can be a challenge because once we get into the habit of drinking, it's hard to break. Have you tried valerian? That helped me break the alcohol addiction. It didn't stop it completely but it did help break through the hard part of recovering from alcohol. I know this may sound weird but I also tried sleeping in the backyard for a bit (again, I know it sounds weird at first). I set up a tent, rolled out a camping cot and slept outside. What that did was it helped my brain and body get some fresh air while I sleep during recovery. Alcohol tends to rob our bodies of oxygen especially during sleep. Surprisingly, camping in the backyard actually helped me recover from alcohol faster. But then again, aside from fresh air during sleep, I love camping so that helped. Maybe it'll help you too?
Yard_eggs: I'll try that, I've never tried chamomile with sugar and cream before
