I got ya here...I got married and divorced sober...my ex wife was the flirter...I saw her at work when I was working part time...she was related to the gal I liked who had no interest in me and she was a lush with sex issues and a face that one day bore a bad sore that I thought was tertiary syphilis. So I had no interest in her and she dated a guy we worked with...but the gal her aunt kept showing interest and one day I did flirt back with her...she ended up moving junk from house she had sold that her sister bought into my basement and she insisted on sleeping with me since she had no place to go...it was really stupid to get married...she had been married five times and had five kids from one marriage...

so I am clueless...ZIP No clue what to do to date....now does that help you? I dunt think so....but I got something from leveling with myself on paper again...LOL

I am afraid that I am no agony aunt but this is my experience.
I never went out with a girl without being a drunken idiot and it is a source of amazement that I ever made any progress at all. Now that I am no longer in the market as it were, and have been sober for a few years, I find it extremely easy to communicate with the girls. It probably comes from having strong self-belief and not being too concerned about what other people think. Flirting sober is the easiest thing in the world just be yourself and dont worry about trying to meet anyones expectations.

Sometimes us guys are slow at picking up the signals so you may have to take a more direct approach. Just be prepared for the possibility that he may say no (for any number of reasons) and have a suitable strategy worked out. Good Luck.

LOL Anna. I don't envy you! The worst part about having "crushes" is keeping the focus where it belongs (on ourselves). All these little scenarios going through the head and wondering whether any little gesture or comment means something more than what it really is. It was painful!! Very glad I'm not there, but I remember it well. :)

Just be yourself. If you aren't the flirty type, then why try to be a flirt?

Most healthy males will let you know when and if they want "something more." I say be friendly and warm, be curious about him as a person and respond positively to his invitations. If he doesn't inch forward under those conditions, he might not be the fellow you want.

Unless of course they are gay. soooooooooooooo you may just have to take the bull by the horns and invite him over for dinner. Candles...sexy dress...Johnny Mathis music (or whatever make out music is in today). If he doesn't take the hint then I would be concerned about his intelligence and pass on him.

I like the idea of going with the flow.....patience. You are not 36 going on 12, you are you on a healthy path! This kind of stuff is hard for all folks I think, alkis or not. It brings up a lot of vulnerabilities and makes us feel like little kids.

Why not just text him 'do you fancy going out just the two of us' as said before, he can only say no. Then at least you will know where you are.

As others have pointed out about men, I have had women flirt with me and I have had no idea. Whilst I am definetly off the market (and petrified of my wife) there has been the very odd occassion this has happened.

It is not until we are on the way home and the boss says so and so is such a flirt and I say oh who were they flirting with and my wife looks at me as if I am a moron (probably am) and just shakes her head and says you stupid. I know there is a problem when the boss interjects herself between me and the other women which happened once. (The other woman was my sister in law my wife had not met).

Now this is just a suggestion from a bloke who has not had to play this game for 1/4 of a century. Maybe in your most innocent voice say "so and so how do you know when a woman if flirting with you and how do you flirt with a woman". Be very casual as if it is just an out of the blue question. This also gives you an out if it goes pear shaped.
