Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
God,
Please help me set aside
Everything I think I know
About myself, my disease,
These steps, and especially You,
For an open mind
And a new experience
With myself, my disease,
These steps and especially You.
Amen
Oswald Chambers
"Prayer is the mother and daughter of all tears. It is an expiation of sin, a bridge across temtation, a bulwark againstaffliction. It wipes out conflict, is the work of angels, and is the nourishment of everything spiritual."
Saint John Climacus
I hope you all have a sober 24.
God Bless
Lionel
I SAID A PRAYER For You Today
I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word
I didnt ask for wealth or fame
I knew you wouldnt mind
I ask Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind
I ask that He would be near to you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share the way
I asked Him happiness for you
In all things great and small
But it was for His loving care
I prayed for most of all
May I be well.
May I be peaceful and at ease.
May I be happy.

You have MISINTERPRETED a BEAUTIFUL thread here !
Why do you feel the need to do this?
Here is the line from the ORIGINAL POST >>>
"now I have come to believe in the power of prayer and it has helped me through my recovery >>along with>
THERE IS NOT ONE NEGATIVE POST ON THIS THREAD UNTIL YOUR POST !!!
Why do u feel the need to "add your two cents worth"?
Maybe take a good hard look at steps 6 and 7..
And then take an even deeper look at your resistance to anyone sharing their POSITIVE EXPERIENCES with the Power of prayer and their OWN relationship with their OWN Higher Power...
Also, you have brought much negative forces to express your resistance to a Higher Power of "our own understanding" and to prayer work...And yet, you offer NOTHING of what "power" you have in your own life.
If you are as sober as you try to tell us,, what page in the Big Book of ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is the following from :
"We could wish to be moral, we could wish to be philosophically comforted, in fact, we could will these things with all our might, but the needed power wasn't there. Our human resources, as marshalled by the will, were not sufficient; they failed utterly.
Lack of Power, that was our dilemma.
We had to find a power by which we could live, and it had to be a Power greater than ourselves. Obviously. But where and how were we to find this Power?
>>> Well, that's exactly what this book is about.
Its main object is to enable you to find a Power greater than yourself which will solve your problem."
If you feel the need to REACT to my post above,,, please come to me in PRIVATE as i will NOT repsond to you(or anyone else that wants to ruin this thread) on this thread.
My PRAYER is to keep this BEAUTIFUL THREAD ALIVE AND WELL AS LONG AS POSSIBLE on this board.
God Bless all who have kept this string so POSITIVE.
Sincerely,
