Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. I've been coming on this site for only 8 months. When I first joined, I was able to only see the good in the responses....the helpful words...kind or a TAD harsh...but it seemed to me that most people were trying to help the poster with his/her troubles...may they be related to alcohol or not.
Now, I see a lot of people taking other peoples inventories. Aren't we all here to work on our OWN sobriety and deal with our OWN issues??
I see people getting pissed off and lashing out because of one persons comments and those people posting blasts on threads that should be sent to them directly, rather than airing their dirty laundry in public.
My experience has shown that when we get that angry about something someone has said, nice or not so nice, it's because we've hit a nerve...so rather than fighting back, how about we all try to take a minute and look at WHY it pissed us off so badly? Then take another minute to decide whether it needs to be posted in public, or private.
This is just one persons observations, but my life experience has shown that I get a lot more out of something when I take a minute to think, rather than just respond.

I do agree that we don't need to coddle people and yes, tough love is often needed, but if we can keep it respectful, that would be great.
As a reminded, whenever we type something in this box, there is that little bit below that says, "In adding this Comment, I (insert name), do promise to be nice." as well as on the side it says, "We trust you will do your best to remain positive and helpful."
Those were placed there to help keep this site a safe place to come.
Thanks to all that have responded, and sorry if my dancing yoda is distracting...I was going to have an avatar of a dolphin simulating sex with a man...but didn't think that to be appropriate. lol. No...really.
I too have not come on here some times, because it seems the posts are getting far away from the subject at hand and I feel as if I'm reading a transcription of a kindergarten class.
Hopefully, this post will make some people think about how they respond and others think of how they word their posts.
