I am going to send this to my fiance who is in prison now for his 9th DUI. Hopefully something will get to him this time. Has been locked up for it before too. I am not an alcoholic. I just am on this to get some insight to what it is all about. I try to learn to help me as well as him. He has made a mess of both of our lives because of alcoholism, but I don't give up on him, it is a disease. We wouldn't abandon someone because they had cancer. I am not enabling, I am loving and supporting a wonderful man who succumbed to a dreadful disease. He makes it hard, he is so mean and ornery when drinking, and when in prison, but there is a good man in there dying to come back out from the drunken haze. He has hurt me in thousands of ways, I am broke, and very depressed, but I choose to stick by him.I don't even have heat all winter except a wood burning, little stove. I live in Wisc. It is very cold.He doesn't seem to think of any of that when he is in prisonor when off getting drunk. People think I have lost my mind. No, I have lost the love of my life to alcohol, and I am going to find him again. Good luck to all of you!
