Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

And I hate myself for becoming an alcoholic. I've messed up relationships that I don't know will ever be mended. I've lost precious time because I decided to get drunk. I've disappointed myself over and over. I have this horrible feeling all the time. It just consumes me. And I drink to numb it. Even though of course the next day is worse because of it. I feel weak for giving in time and time again. I don't like the person I've become.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

You don't have to drink today or tomorrow but the only way this is going to happen is if you do something different than you did yesterday. So are you willing to make that change?

Then I went through an outpatient treatment program followed by counseling followed by AA meetings. Had I not done everything I needed to do, I wouldn't be here writing this to you.
The choice is yours, you can stay on that one way train that's guaranteed to crash when it reaches the end of the line, or you can get help and live a meaningful sober life! What will it be, get off at this stop or stay on this ride which is guaranteed to get worse. I hope you choose the latter.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
Those relationships you fear you have damaged can be rebuilt but you have to like, love and respect yourself enough to rebuild yourself first. Once those people see your strength and determination, their trust and respect in you will grow.
I have a friend who is 53 years sober. He has taught me to be grateful to be an alcoholic. Because he's been given a toolbox on how to deal with life's struggles. He'd never have this if he weren't an alcoholic.
It took me a while to see, but I am glad that I appoach everything with the comfort and knowledge of knowing I make an experienced and wiser decision based on what I've learned.
