Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Hi There,
I just wanted to share my thoughts as they are a problem for me right now and I thought that getting them out into this post might help me move on from them. In my head, I am glamourising last year when I will still addicted to alcohol, sugar, and nicotine. I was in a different job where I really liked the people but things werent adding up, I wasnt earning eniough money, I wasnt getting enough sleep due to long working hours and I was avoiding the goal of getting a career job because I was having too much fun from drinking etc... It was the first I seemed to be able to get away with drinking in the weekday and go to work and for my hangover to go unnoticed for quite some time. The people were really nice to me as well. I sinced moved jobs and whilst alot of important things have improved, my health, my money situation is better, I got some therapy to deal with avoiding things, I still look back and miss those days of fun. I sometimes even think they were better because I liked the people. Where I am now, I am truely grateful for the job and support I have received but I dont feel the same way about the people. I dont want to move jobs yet, because I wanted to get a qualification so that I could get a career job but I am feeling a bit down about the lack of people who I like in my life. I suppose sometimes, its important to be patient.

Tomorrow is National Massachusetts Day!Have you ever lived in or visited Massachusetts? If so, tell us what's great about the Bay State!

I did drop in on an AA meeting last night as a result of your emcouragement. I felt really shy at the time so just stayed in the background but this morning I feel positve and they were the type of people I would want to get to know, so I just to say thank so much for being kind enough to respond to my post. You have helped me to start digging myself out of a dark period in my life.
Take the thought of how great it was and then remember how not great it was.
You gotta smash the beautiful green bottle into a million pieces ,literally
