Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I've been having relapse after relapse. Spent days sick and unable to do anything. I have said for so long I'm done drinking and won't do it again. But I would eventually anyway. But I finally feel like I'm ready to get past this. I finally don't want to ever mess up again. I got the desire chip last night at AA. It was my second meeting. I held it the whole way home. I have finally made a real step towards recovery and I'm so proud of myself for that. It's a good change to be proud of myself and not disappointed. It's not easy but I know I can get there.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

God Bless

When I made this connection between my attitude (relapsing is to be expected, understandable and "okay") and my behavior (to continue relapsing), I made the conscience determination that "I no longer relapse". I put that behavior behind me. I went from "it's okay to relapse" to "I don't relapse. Period. No matter what."
That decision and a willingness to work the 12 steps has helped me achieve my current sobriety of 13 years.
Good luck.
So, it will happen. I am glad you are writing about this and glad you got the chip.
