Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I got drunk the last two days. I drank so much that I was throwing up from 3am until about 11am. My stomach is sore from it. My husband was mad at me when I told him. I was keeping it from him. I've been so depressed and started doing it again. I feel disgusted with myself. I'm so disappointed with myself and it kills me to have him disappointed too. I've decided to try AA. I'm scared though. But I can't continue down this path. I can't do it to myself and my family. I just feel so low right now. I know I need to learn from my mistakes and move forward. But I'm just feeling like I'm in a bad place emotionally. I don't like the person I have been.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

1) saw a therapist and a nurse practitioner who has experience in addiction and recovery. Prescribed appropriate medications including meds to help me resist drinking
2) consistently attend AA meetings. I live in CT and this are is brimming with all types of AA meetings.
3) Pray, read books on alcoholism and pray more
Ps: you may want to journal -- you can do so on here and make it private. I look back on entries from years ago. It's telling
When I got sober 4 yrs ago, my kids were 13, 9 and 2. The older ones had seen enough - even though it was infrequent, they knew. When I sat down with all of them, my 9 year old told me she didn't believe I'd stop drinking.
I haven't had a drink since and I'm proud that my 6 year old has no real recollection of seeing me drink or drunk.
Alcoholism is a family problem. It also has a family solution.
The shame is normal but kick it to the curb. It's time to emerge from this a better woman, wife, mother, and friend. AA will help you get there. Find someone who has what you want.
Don't be fooled to getting a sponsor your first meeting. Go to about 10 meetings with consistent women so you know their stories.
You will want someone who has a life like yours to guide you.
And keep posting in here.
It's your choice!
God Bless
