This would be a good time to reach out to your face-to-face support system, Bob. If you haven't got one, a good time to develop one. This is where the fellowship plays an integral part in recovery. Prayers are wonderful, but prayers are usually answered through people.

Ouch. Not nice. When I got left by someone and didn't want to drink I made loads of rootbeer floats. got just as sick, but no hang over.
Get hold of someone local, make a plan, and stay sober. So sorry.

aw bob - you have a very full plate right now - lots of grief to get through.

Suicide is terribly hard to understand, not to mention your wife leaving you - being hard to understand - and then your business being slow...

It was when I had lost everything that my life turned around completely. I finally turned it over because I had no choice and I found out that God had a much better plan for me than I had.

My suggestion right now would be to pray and pray and pray - harder than you ever have before - give it to God and you just might be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not a religious person and I don't have a lot of faith in anything except for the God I met in AA. This God does pull us through.

Good luck bob. I agree with those who have suggested that this is a good time to reach out to the fellowship if you have a home group - this would be the time to ask them for help.

just know that this too shall pass....in our end we come and go from this life poor naked and alone....

That's a lot to deal with, please keep yourself safe and surround yourself with people who are a positive influence on you right now. You will come through this, we are all here for you. Many hugs to you!

Bob, stay on this site. There are so many wonderful people here. I couldn't wait to get back to this today. Here I feel love & strength. Here I do not feel alone (and I'm chompin the bit cuz I'm only on day 5, and this is my FIRST SOBER WEEKEND in over 20 yrs).
My dad always said "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!" (or in our case ONE DAY AT A TIME) You need to grieve, but someone here said it right, get with someone and get some real hug therapy!

Wow that is tough Bob. Get out of the house-force yourself. You are in a bad place, and being around others I know helps me. Can you do that? Are you in AA? Can you go volunteer somewhere? I don't know Bob-the idea that this will pass probably does not help right now-you need to get around others who can help you right now.

I am so sorry for all of this sadness, it seems too much to bear, but you'll come through, I'm sure. I'm holding you in my thoughts.

I heard that recently, thought about it and concluded on that being so true. It also seems that us alkies hate change.
Recently,,I was dealt with lots of change (that includes death).
Step 2 yelled out at me and all I knew to do was go hang out with other alkies at different meeting halls, the group served as a power greater than myself, and I didn't have to be stranded all alone with tyson(my brain). To do so would have been really a bad decision.
When the tough got going, i ran to AA, the best one dollar life on lifes terms therapy known to man.lol
I feel ya Bob but please get busy ASAP, no reason for you to end up dead to.

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. I just want to echo ppobear's words -- you are a valued member here. I know this a difficult time for you -- do everything you can to take care of yourself -- keep yourself surrounded with support and filled with your HP's love.

The saying 'our HP only gives us in one day what we can handle' seems huge to you today. You must be one strong person to have all this going on....or, your HP is focusing you on your recovery and program. I like to look at things as growth opportunities and sometimes I want to yell yet....and this is a good yet...coming through the other side usually brings something rewarding.

Keep the faith and stay close to the winners.
