Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

A lady I've only spoken to a few times approached after a mtg to discuss issues she is having with her sponsor. It sounded liked she was making excuses but I entertained the conversation. She asked if would hear her 5th if her sponsor wasn't available. "I trust you" she says. I don't trust her or her motives. She has had long term sobriety and recently came back and has maybe 4 months now.
I thought I am supposed to do what I think is the right thing and I am not this is a good idea. Maybe it is a god thing. This woman is a cryer and an overt pity seeker. She is going to be sorely disappointed if she is looking for me to entertain that. I may not be the most sensitive to her because I don't trust HER.
It's just weird. I have been a little out of it this week starting some new meds and I was going to explain to her that my head wasn't clear enough to do this, but I am starting to feel better and need to stay honest, so I'm not sure how to handle this.
Any advice? My sponsor said to pray about it and I don't have a clear answer yet.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Has made you feel uncomfortable though, I can identify with that. It sounds as though a plan is being made by this person. Comfortable enough to gain their confidence, ask them what and why? Perhaps just their own neurotic worries.
You might be able to be helpful without necessarily doing what they're asking you to do.
"Freelance AA" lol is just that a stepping stone:( To which direction I don't know ...

Follow your gut. it is a dis-service to her because you don't want to be there, and for the same reason to yourself. Take care of you.
I am fairly certain the correct answer is no. Thanks everyone for the input.
It's not just about dumping our shit and moving on.
I was told very early on that I had choice over who I did my 5th with, my sponsor at the time did not 'expect it'. However, by then, I could not have imagined doing it with anyone else as I had grown with my sponsor and I thought this part of the process for me.
However, sure, you can choose who you want to do your 5th with...as you say though, motives are important, both yours and hers.
