Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Not me.

Was at a sports bar today. Annoying behavior and zero interest to have what they are having.
I lost the craving of being a loud, obnoxious, flirtatious, asshole a long time ago.
I was tired and that's when I'm vernerable.
I don't want to drink but the allure is something I wrestle with
I haven't since and was very glad I didn't

Bill I can make suggestions but they generally do what they are use to doing which is helping the newbies stay sober without getting too technical.
IM77, I know the feeling...been there and done that. What are your thoughts on the meeting?

Bit of an extension on that, remember talking to my sponsor after had done the steps and saying you know I don't care anymore if I am or I am not an alcoholic, the truth I do not want to drink anymore because of the way I feel. Losing all that bullshit associated with drinking.
So guess that helps me not want to drink ever again

The question reminds me of a Christmas Eve a number of years ago when I went to the shop in the morning as normal. There were few Off Licence outlets at the time and I remember desperately searching for an open bar. Found a place eventually where the owner had the door open as he was cleaning up after the night before and I managed to get that first drink.
I would have been very unhappy if anyone had suggested that I could be an alcoholic at that time and there will probably be many drinkers doing the same this morning while denying that there is a problem.
