Sober now and ashamed of myself as usual. I know this is getting old. I just keep making the wrong choice. And as stupid as I feel right now, I still have to come on here and apologize. Anything else would be unfair.

I am sorry for all the ugliness over the holiday. I am sorry for disturbing anyone. I don't know how DS got wrapped up in my p.o.d. but I wish I could take it all back.

Believe it or not, I am doing the best I can right now. I wish you all didn't have to see me fail over and over. I wish none of you had to hear me when I drink.

I am here on DS for me. THIS is helping me. YOU all help me. I know you may not see it, but 10 days sober, 7 days sober, 40 days sober.. ALL better than 0 days sober, which was my life until a year ago. I just have to keep trying and I will just suck apparently until I get there.

Don't know what else to say except I'm sorry, again.

Your getting some great advice here. Take it.

The opinion of the care lady got me closer and closer to killing myself frankly.

Go back and re-read what M8 said. I suffer from a mental obsession and an allergy that, without a psychic change (spiritual experience), I will die.

just a thought about choice. when i worked the third step-i'm an aa'er-i gave my life over to the care of this God I understand. since i do that on a daily basis i've given the choice to God. i no longer have one. if i stay spiritually fit i won't even question whether i do or don't. it is what is.

I just want to add that aside from self pity there is a lot of self loathing going on. When we feed ourselves negativity then we are setting ourselves up. Aside from a sponsor do you think it might be a good idea to try counseling? It can't hurt. You gotta get to the bottom of this pain. It hurts but it's better than not feeling anything at all. I know this is hard ESPECIALLY when you're drunk but why not make a conscious choice to not log on to the computer IF you've been drinking. I really want this to work out for you. Do whatever you need to do to stay sober. It's just very hard work. No getting around that. Blessings and deep peace to you

I think its time you have a better plan. Whatever it was before didn't work. From my exp. the I'm sorry's got old. What's going to different this time?

Choices. Its been said of here we always had that choice out in the madness not to drink. For this alcoholic I had no choices until I surrendered & got educated on the disease of alcoholism of why I did the things I did. When your totally helpless & alone choices was the furthest thing from my mind.

Devon, I was told early on if your spiritually fit all the things that bother you will not bother you once you become fit. Didn't understand it then BUT sure do today. So true "it is what it is" goes back to acceptance. Grateful today I have a choice its what I call a gift.

HTL, you do have a choice and you know it. It is a tough thing sometimes to make the correct choice, you are after all an alcoholic. But Anna, if there had never been a Bill W or AA, you would still have the choice.

I don't know why people want to give newcomers to AA the excuse that they can't do it unless they've done the steps. It seems to tell you that it's not your fault.

You know better than that. I know you're that smart for sure.

m8 I AGREE 100% about learning about the disease. i had 10 years of abstinence from drinking under my belt when i walked into drug and alcohol EDUCATION classes, relapse prevention classes and anger management classes, spirituality meetings with my pastor and tons of reading - the drug and alcohol classes and relapse prevention classes were REQUIRED for my now exh who was on parole at the time - but for some odd reason - I just jumped into those classes with 2 feet - way more than he did and i continued for months after the 12 week period was required, i attended like 9 months weekly and then I started tapering off ffrom there.

i will say - EDUCATION of the disease really hit home and answered tons of questions about myself!
