ADHD / ADD Support Group
Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD) are more common than you might think. It is a syndrome that exhibits symptoms such as hyperactivity, forgetfulness, mood shifts, poor impulse control, and distractibility. Join others who suffer from these conditions and share your experiences.
The difference was almost immediate and quite dramatic. My quality of life has improved in so many ways since. Treatment of course does not cure ADHD but for me at least, it is far, far more preferable than not being treated.
After beginning treatment, I surveyed a number of online ADHD support groups. But none of them spoke to me - they are largely populated by much younger individuals. Few have an understanding of what it means to live for so long undiagnosed and untreated.
You might want to check out Zoe Kessler's blog on psychcentral.com
I have also found that there is not much support for adults with Add/ADHD....so maybe we can build a blog for just adult add/adhd and we can swap ideas on how to build ourselves better.
His live-in girlfriend also noticing big changes too.

Aderall is a good med not as bad side effects as Ritalin but it all depends what works for you like all new meds give it a bit of time you might find after a little while its the best thing for you.

I would greatly apprecitate any information, or advice that someone who has ADD, could offer me.
Thanks for reading...
I have finally stopped running from this. Part of the reason I have not gotten the help I need for this disorder is, most of my friends just make comments like: oh, everyone has ADD, now. So I thought it wasn't something that I needed therapy and, perhaps, meds. for. But after having my inablility to control opening my mouth and saying things that I should keep to myself. And interuppting ppl. while they are talking; being so impulsive, I am just tired of the repeated behavior, that I just can't seem to control.
I am seeing a new Therapist, soon. And I'm ready now, to admit that I need help. And want help, now.
I am really fortunate that my Supervisor likes me; as do my coworkers; I could have lost my job, last wk. This incidence @ work, was like a bucket of ice water being thrown in my face.
Thanks again, Debra. for your response. It meant a lot to me...
