I laughed when you wrote that you might be heading to your daughter's apartment. My wife and eldest daughter will be on our way to Farmington, CT to impose on my middle child, who is a MD/MPH student at UConn. I think that coastal areas in NY, NJ and CT are in for it. My mother will be 88 next week and she and my Dad (89) live on Long Island, where I grew up. Neither one seems to be very concerned. LOL. It is good to have wisdom. I am trying, but cannot measure up to my parents. OMG how lucky I am to still have them. They have been rocks to me through my illness (which, as I have posted previously, I kept from my mother for months). And my incredible sister (A+). She is a hypochondriac and so my ailments become minor. If I describe her too much, I will cry. My brother too. Amazing. My wife really came through for me. Her parents are old and not in the condition of mine, but she managed to take care of all of us, like a mother hen. I don't know how she does it.

Anyway, the storm may be symbolic for you, Trish, Suzanne and Phil. You are now facing a storm, but oh, when the skies clear again, there will be an absolutely stupendous rainbow!

Trish you had my laughing hysterically. I can just picture you sitting in the bathtub with the motorcycle helmet on. I hope someone took a picture.

We are ready for the hurricane that will probably never happen. Got out the flashlights and batteries. Have non perishables. It is always the storms we prepare for that never happen. And what is it with Halloween. Last year it was cancelled for us because of the huge snow storm, no power for 5 days that was interesting. We actually had fun playing games and reading books by candle light. It was nice to have no electric distractions.

The University has asked all non-essential personnel to not report. I 100% agree with the decision. The clinical trial will either begin later this week or at worst on Monday of next.

So......for now, only the storm to weather. Hoping my match and everyone waiting, falls from the sky as the hurricane blows through. I will stand outside and catch if required!

Looks like the e-mail notifications might be down again -- perhaps the weather? I am praying the everyone in the affected area will be safe -- this is supposed to be epic so for sure -- please take whatever precautions are recommended ... you all know the drill. These types of things can spawn tornadoes (as if the basic storm is not enough), and they have said that when in the safe room wearing any kind of a helmet can be beneficial -- for obvious reasons. So even a bicycle helmet or anything like that would be beneficial. I have many relatives in NJ and am very concerned, so any news from this list would be appreciated -- especially as it might affect your treatment or health. Please take care and don't take any chances around down wires or things like that. -- dave

Tree down . Clipped house. No power . Appointments cancelled. Clinical trial on hold. Will be back when restored. We are ok, not great, but ok. My all volunteer fire department are superheroes. I hope you all faired well. Peace, love, hope

Andrea -- great to hear you are OK -- not sure about everyone else. I just got back on. I am in the south so not affected by this one. I hope everyone else is safe. It just goes to show how fragile life is with or without our respective problems. Take care and lets all be praying for everyone. I saw the Lango hospital got taken out big time and that is a major Tragedy -- dave

We are all good. Some branches and trees down, but none hit anything. Lost power for awhile, but that's all. Family in Philly is fine as well. Glad to hear you weathered the storm Andrea. Cliff glad you got out of NYC. Ed hope you are fine. Ollie hope you are alright as well on the coast. What a crazy storm.

I just found your post on here as I was researching some clinical trials. Is your oncologist at HUP? My father is being treated for AML at HUP and recently relapsed so we are going back in on Wednesday to meet with the clinical trial nurse to discuss options. He relapsed rather quickly - he had just finished his 2nd consolidation. Curious as to who your doctor is and who you met with regarding the AC220. I don't know if my dad has the FLT3 mutation - since he was diagnosed in May they haven't given us too many specifics on his cytogenics, etc... We have basically just been following their orders and doing what they recommend. I have read wonderful things about the AC220. If you get a chance, drop a line. I'd love to chat, especially since we seem to be involved with the same hospital. Wishing you ALL the best. You will beat this!! Be well. xo

I am seeing Alexander Perl, MD at PENN. would live to meet someone else in Philly. My oncologist group is still Temple/Fox Chase. I live them. I am anxious to get back on and see how everyone is, just complicated. Had tree fall on house too. Ughhhhh. Maybe tomorrow for power. Think of you all . Peace, love & hope.

I too have no power. We drove all the way back home yesterday, because they swore we would have power at 6PM. Well, there wasn't even a crew out there all day, so....we drove all the way back to my daughter's.

I am now back home, because today is my eldest's 29th birthday and she wanted to go outlet shopping with my wife. I refused to go. There are at least 3 crews out there on the main road and so I am optimistic that we will get power.

I am excited about AC220. You just have to get yourself back into remission (which you will) and you will take off from there. The data looks excellent.

Let me know what Dr. Perl says.

So glad to hear that you and your family are alright and that you will be starting your trial on Monday. I thought I would be starting this Monday too, but there is a delay because they need to ship the drug from NJ. Hopefully it will not take too long. I hope the tree that fell is not too big. Really happy to hear from you, you are in my prayers.
