Abstinence & Celibacy Support Group
The pressures of sex from peers, the media and culture can be overwhelming, but you are in total control of your body and celibacy is a choice that many are making. Find sanctuary with people who are choosing to abstain without fear of judgment.
Hi everyone. So I have been contemplating becoming celibate for some time. It is not something I could mention to family or close friends. They wouldnt believe me if I did, so hear I am.
Sex and the opposite sex has always been such a big focus in my life. It seemed so important for young guys to be on the lookout for his next sexual partner and it would boost my fragile ego I guess.
Then I met someone that I worshiped the ground she stood on. I was 100% faithful and loyal to this person. That relationship ended due to her infidelity and it caused me so much pain and hurt. More than I imagined it would.
Since that ended, I have tried dating, I've tried just casual hookups. Sex seems so important in the world of dating and it all seems so pointless. I am done looking for the "one", if that phrase even exists. I am done looking for meaningless sex.
Let the celibate journey begin!

I am sad to say this forum is not very active. Personally, I don't believe celibacy is anywhere near as rare as the willingness to discuss it openly. The few of us willing to discuss it --for all the reasons you stated, plus some-- tend to have such radically different reasons for being celibate that it is difficult to find common ground.
Just believing. . . To the best of my knowledge, proof remains unavailable. Despite all the media presentation, sex, in general, remains a very sensitive subject. For good reason, in my opine. In my own house, life doesn't get much more personal than sex.
But DS is a big web site with allot of more active support available. I hope you'll take the time to surf around to see what other flavors of support might help you on your journey. Myself, I hang out in the anxiety forum allot.
