Abstinence & Celibacy Support Group
The pressures of sex from peers, the media and culture can be overwhelming, but you are in total control of your body and celibacy is a choice that many are making. Find sanctuary with people who are choosing to abstain without fear of judgment.
Hi, I'm new here so I thought I'd share my story. I have recently decided to opt for celibacy after a long a treacherous road. In May 1990, when I was 6, I was in a severe car/train accident that killed my 3 year old brother and a family friend. I had no pulse or heartbeat on the scene and after they literally brought me back from the dead, I was air-lifted to the Cook's Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth where I spent the next 91 days. I was comatose for over a week, and had to learn to do everything all over again. Ever since then I have had on and off, depression, and up until 8 months ago, seizures. Fast forward to now, and I have only had sex with one person and I hated it. I felt invaded, compromised, and extremely uncomfortable. That was over a year ago and I am just now getting to where I will let family members hug me again. After going through all of that, I have decided to become fully celibate. I joined this site because I figure there may be times when I will need some support.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

It doesn't seem to matter what our life circumstances, we all need emotional support to work out our personal puzzles. Hope you find such support here.
Welcome aboard.
I started onto my own recovery road from the damages of child sex trafficking, et al, at the age of 18, in 1972. What a long, strange trip it's been. . . To my strictly personal senses, the forced celibacy is far from the strangest of ^it^. The good news(?) is that I have healed far enough to have lost the need for secrecy. Discussing my psychoweirds openly without swinging to the exhibitionist extreme is an actual psychotherapy exercise for me. The only thing harder than finding a balance is keeping a balance.
you don't have to. You can live a fulfilling life without intercouse . Hopefully, this group will give all of us a since of support to have open and honest conversations about thses matters.
