  anyone get the shingle virus while having mg? I got the virus 4 days ago , the rash isn't too bad for pain but I am getting abdominal cramps.cannot sleep. Started taking voltrex and dilaudid but the cramps persist. Any advice would be great. Thanks

  could someone tell me please how long do I have to take prednisone before it takes effect. My neuro started me on 20 mg a day plus 60 mg every four hours of mestinon. i was taking 120 mg of mestinon four times a day and was being over medicated. (Lots of sweating, slurred speech, trouble swallowing). My new neuro dropped the dosage of mestinon and introduced prednisone. It has been almost two weeks and double vision has returned.   This is a great big thank you for your advice to getting a new neurologist. Saw him today and will be starting on prednisone and mestinon mix. I will not be satisfied with the status quo  (live with it or it is all in your head) as my last neuro had said. Looking forward to the new meds.chrster

  hi everyone ,I am 51 years old and was diagnosed with mg just over a year now. Started with double vision and Ptosis. My neuro put me on 120 mg 4 times a day. It helps the symptoms no more double vision but I get slurred speech when tired or exerting too much energy. I still cannot drive and I do this for a living, my neuro refuses to put me on predisone.   does anyone feel worse during bad weather. I get that heavy feeling when it rains or its too humid. Just wondering if it's me or this crappy disease . Thanks for your input
