  I have been reading all of the positive qoutes on this site and they all have been so helpful  to meditate on. I called on a very close friend to help keep myself accountable, so if I have trouble I can call on him to be firm but fair. The testimonies I have read here reminds me that I am not alone in this addiction. The road is hard still for I can at any moment fall back even on one simple conversation. I still ask God to keep me aware at all times because my integrity is at stake. I will...

  Today I started by praying to God the serenity prayer so I may be able to surrender all. My first test was early this morning on a simple discussion with my co-worker. I saw how automatic lying has become for me when I agreed to something I didn't do, so I can seem "in the know" . I was prompted immediatly to say "I'm sorry, i DIDN'T do that". I felt good about that. I know this is going to be a long journey, but at least I took the first step.

  This is the first full day of admitting I have an addiction of compulsive lying. Realizing now that a lie allows me to take an easy way out and avoid all responsibilities, I have to be honest and be a man of integrity. This will be hard work, and I am somewhat afraid. But if God is going to be my source, I will have to trust and rely on Him to give me courage and peace. I must do this for my God, myloved ones and especially for myself. If I ask for forgiveness, I can get back up.

  Hard to understand that I been having this addiction for so long, I feel that I am bound and shackled so tight I can't breathe. I want to be honest, but because of not being true to those I suppose to love, I hurt them even more. Especially my wife who had always believed in the good in me, but now I may have pushed her over the edge. Selfishness, fear of being wrong, fear of failing, allthese things have prompted me for years to lie and force myself to feel good about myself and others to look...
