Surgery and cat trouble
Hello SOTH,
i have an update on my surgery. I'm having a lumpectomy on 9/2. It's not breast cancer but they found atypical cells in a biopsy. This is not a big surgery and I'll only be out of work 3 days and I'll also have the long holiday weekend to lay around which I'm looking forward to. Summer and Larry moved in about 4 weeks ago and it's really been fine except for the cats. I have a cat, Bella who is declawed. I didn't declaw her as I got her from the Humane society. Summer's cat Bitty had kittens the day they moved in and she is fiercely defensive and has attacked Bella twice so now we are having to make sure they are never together and this has been very stressful. Bella has to stay in my bedroom most of the time and of course I have to stay in my bedroom with her if I'm home or we go out on the deck when I get home. Anyway you get the picture. I don't know how long I can live this way. I told Summer the other day that we may have to find a home for Bitty cause I can't risk her attacking Bella and she agreed tearfully but I can live with it 4 more weeks. Maybe once the kittens are gone, she'll be better. That Mama instinct is very powerful!
Ive been missing Justin terribly this week and I went for a walk yesterday and found a quarter right away. That's one of his signs for me and so I was talking to him asking him for another sign and I came across his favorite beer in a can which is an unusual brand and then a butterfly flew right over it. That's Justin! He always has a great sense of humor. I know he knows I've been down. Summer said she was home the other day alone and the garage door opened by itself. She said she kep waiting for me to pull in but she went downstairs and no one was there. She was sure it was Justin as he does mess with electrical stuff sometimes. I'm so grateful for some signs as it seems he's been a way for a while. I miss my mischievous boy! There are not many places I could say that.
I have been super busy at work and I'm working on a website. I'm so grateful to have work I love but it's tough being self employed sometimes.

Why does your poor kitty have to be locked away? Why can't Mama Cat and her kittens be locked in your daughter's room? After all, it's Bella's home.
It's great that they found the atypical cells and can remove them before they decide to be more aggressive.
I wish I got more signs from my daughter. It's partially my own fault because I spend very little time in nature and there is something about being in nature that makes it easier for our loved ones to wink at us.

You're right . Why are Bella and I trapped I my room? Good question. That will soon be over. Thank you Gina for bringing something to my attention!!
I so understand your situation with your cat. I have 2 cats. Mister and Missy. Mister was inherited from my Dad...guess he adopted my Dad--lol. When I went to California last August to bring my sister back to live with me due to her Alzheimer's diagnosis, she insisted on bringing 4 of her 8 cats.
Once we got here, her cats took over my house. My cats were in and out of the house, so they soon were outside all of the time. Aside from all of the damage to my home, furniture and curtains, they attacked my female all the time and my male cat just avoided the whole thing and started staying with my aunt next door. She then left abruptly in February taking one of her cats and leaving the rest with me to get later. She came in June and decided not to take the other 3 (which I had put outside) so I was left to find homes for them...and am trying not to be angry with her after carting them across country (not fun), feeding them for a year, and all.
End of story...Mister and Missy are happy once more to sleep on the front porch and laze around on the back deck...peace once more on the home front,

Well, love, I read this after reading your next journal, so I'm hoping the kitty thing will be a non-issue moving forward. And yes, it is Bella's home, and she should have run of the house and if those staying with you can't understand that....well.... We stayed with friends a few days who had a cat. I took my little guy Maui, whom they welcomed. I also took his crate. Now Maui does NOT stay in a crate...only been in one a couple of times in his 7 years. But we were guest in a house where a cat lived. My friend said she would put away her cat so Maui would have free roam. I said NO WAY! Your cat lives here, we are just visiting. And I'll tell you one damn thing for sure, Maui will NOT be in a crate or in a room or anywhere confined in his own house, and I sure as hell won't be!
OH that Justin!!! Just love it! Many use electronics to get our attention. I love the uniquely them signs! The ones you just know that you know because it's SO them!! Good job saying HI Justin!!

So glad that Gina made the suggestion about the cats...makes perfect sense!
