SO SAD!
Wednesday night: First of all, to those who have sent such kind messages, thank you. As always, you are my strength when I cannot stand alone. Such a loss! I adored Melissa! It is like losing a daughter. We have grown very close since Scott died. Adam and she have been together 1 1/2 years and were planning on getting married next summer. She, as I have said before, had Cystic Fibrosis. Such an awful disease! We knew she would die young. We just didn't think it would be NOW! She just got out of the hospital last Thursday. She was feeling good. On Sat. she was feeling really good and had plans to come over on Sunday. But, late Sat. night she called 911 because she could not breathe. Her Dad came home from work about 1 a.m. and found the EMT's trying to get the screen off her window. She died, officially, at the hospital. She was feeling good! It blind-sided us! Visitation was Tuesday night and the funeral was today, Wed., at 10:30 a.m. It was so hard! Another beautiful young person gone. I will post photos later. She was sunshine! So much of the daughter I never had. My heart is so heavy and my strength is gone. And yet, I have to be, or at least pretend, to be strong for Adam. He loved her so much. And at the service when they told her survivors they included Adam as "the love of her life." He was, by choice, a pallbearer. I have to say, even when he wanted to run, he stuck it out. Losing a brother and a girlfriend/fiance in less than a year is a lot for a man of 21 to bear. He just turned 21 on the Thurs. Melissa was released from the hospital. He saw her that day. We all were looking forward to seeing her on Sunday! Adam is not doing well. I am so afraid for him. He has always struggled with depression. I am trying my best to make sure he is not alone. Tonight he is staying with a friend so he won't be alone tomorrow. I have to find something for Friday. That is my last day of work and then I can be with him. I JUST DO NOT UNDERSTAND!

I am so sorry, you have hit my heart deeply. I lost my only daughter, Melissa and she was 21. Poor Adam, I wish I could help. I wish I had answers, but of course we know there are none. Baby Steps. Take Care, Love and Hugs.
